To meet the growing need for a technique of
surface finish control which eliminates opinion and guesswork, a custom made
comparator service is provided by GAR Electroforming. The user can obtain
comparators which are custom designed and engineered for a specific use in
their organization. Comparators are produced in electroformed nickel
offering a variety of sizes and shapes.
The surface can be reproduced from a master
surface provided by the user. Alternatively, GAR can machine the specified
surface to use as a master, following the approval of the customer.
An accurate and inexpensive visual reference
standard, a custom made comparator can be used for: design specification by
engineers, process control by production personnel and quality control by
inspectors. The basic benefit of GAR custom made comparators is the ability

A custom made comparator eliminates the
problem of a single master standard specimen. The single master is difficult

it in the quantity desired without destroying the original master.
